On December 6th,the Second Qingdao International Students Employment and Internship Fair was successfully held at China University of Petroleum (East China) (UPC). Over 400 international students from 65 countries across nine local universities in Qingdao participated in the event. Thirty-five employers offered over 150 internship and job opportunities, covering multiple sectors such as energy, finance, manufacturing, technology, trade, and services.

Wang Xiaomei, Assistant to the President of UPC, delivered an opening speech. She extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the guiding and co-organizing units and emphasized that this event would provide international students with diverse career opportunities, open up new channels of talent recruitment for enterprises and institutions, and would explore new models for higher education institutions and cities to deepen industry-education integration and university-enterprise collaboration.
Representatives from relevant departments of the Exit-Entry Administration of Qingdao Municipal Public Security Bureau and the Qingdao Public Employment and Talent Service Center delivered presentations on employment and internship service policies as well as entry-exit facilitation measures for international students in Qingdao. They also conducted on-site Q&A sessions for international students and employ.

At the fair, representatives from various employers engaged in in-depth discussions with international students and reached preliminary employment or internship intentions with some graduates, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the event. “The success of this fair makes us feel that China is forming a strong synergy to support the career development of international students, which gives us tremendous confidence. A growing number of international students are willing to stay in China to pursue their career goals,” said Deng Lianghui, an international student from Laos at UPC.
“The first fair helped many international students embark on their career journeys, and enterprises successfully recruited fresh international talent. Based on that, we organized the second fair on a larger scale, with more participating organizations and broader industries coverage, reflecting the high priority and collaborative efforts of all departments towards the career development of international students”, stated Huang Fang, Dean of the School of International Education. UPC will continue to uphold its international education philosophy of “serving national strategy through talent cultivation”, to consistently contribute to Qingdao’s efforts in expanding international markets and enhancing its soft power.
