To further align with the international accreditation standards of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and implement SEM’s strategic blueprint for accreditation, SEM held a dedicated AACSB Accreditation Workshop on the afternoon of June 25. The School’s leadership team, Accreditation Center Director, and staff from the Accreditation Office attended the meeting.
Party Secretary Wang Jun emphasized that AACSB accreditation is a key mechanism to enhance teaching quality, promote academic excellence, facilitate international collaboration, and strengthen SEM’s overall competitiveness. He noted that accreditation is a critical initiative in achieving high-quality development in the new era. He called on all leadership members to lead by example, take initiative, and approach the accreditation process with a decisive mindset. The Accreditation Office must study the standards thoroughly, grasp their core intent, and plan carefully. All faculty and staff should actively engage in the process with a strong sense of ownership—embracing the spirit of “I am SEM,” “I build SEM,” and “I support accreditation.”
Associate Dean Jian Ling outlined a comprehensive roadmap for accreditation in light of SEM’s development priorities. He clarified leadership responsibilities in strategic planning, faculty development, curriculum enhancement, talent cultivation, and case development. He also proposed clear steps for advancing the next phase of accreditation efforts.
Accreditation Director Sun Jinfeng presented an update on SEM’s current AACSB accreditation progress and outlined key upcoming activities, including the official kick-off meeting, faculty training sessions, and the planned visit of Geoff Perry, AACSB Executive Vice President. She provided an in-depth explanation of AACSB’s core standards and principles, and offered guidance on how SEM’s work in areas such as strategic integration, Assurance of Learning (AoL), curriculum reform, student development, and alumni engagement can be aligned with the accreditation framework.

SEM places high importance on AACSB accreditation as a driver of continuous improvement. Since the process began, the School has made notable progress in branding, faculty development, and academic advancement. Moving forward, SEM will continue to use accreditation as a lever for institutional innovation and contribute actively to the university’s “Double First-Class” initiative.
