To further deepen the understanding and implementation of the 2020 AACSB Accreditation Standards, align the School’s strategic planning with the university’s “Double First-Class” development initiative, and build a consensus among key stakeholders to drive high-quality development, the School of Economics and Management (SEM) held a strategic planning revision workshop on the afternoon of August 20. This marked the second revision of the School’s strategic plan since the launch of the 14th Five-Year Plan.
Participants in the workshop included Mr. Li Qiang, Vice General Manager of AUCMA Co., Ltd., Professor Xia Haoxiang from Dalian University of Technology, Mr. Sun Bo, Deputy Director of the Huangdao District Tax Bureau and parent representative, as well as faculty representative Luan Kun and current student representative Xin Meiling. All members of the School’s leadership team, Accreditation Director Sun Jinfeng, and staff of the accreditation office were also in attendance. The session was chaired by Party Secretary Wang Jun.

Workshop on Strategic Plan Revision
Associate Dean Jian Ling (acting dean) delivered an overview of the revised strategic plan, outlining key developments in faculty development, research productivity, teaching resources, talent cultivation, and internationalization efforts. He further elaborated on how the School’s strategic framework aligns with AACSB’s principles, including plan maintenance, monitoring mechanisms, innovation, and societal impact.
Representatives from different sectors commended the School’s recent achievements and provided constructive suggestions. These included strengthening disciplinary distinctions, deepening school-enterprise cooperation, enhancing social impact, expanding international collaborations, and supporting personalized development for faculty and students.
Secretary Wang Jun expressed appreciation for the representatives’ active engagement. He emphasized that the development of a business school relies on inclusive stakeholder participation and noted that this workshop serves as a milestone in the School’s journey toward sustainable, high-quality growth. The School will carefully incorporate the feedback received, align its revised strategic plan with AACSB standards and the university’s evolving mission, and strive to build a model for liberal arts innovation and comprehensive development.
