Abstract:
From coal and oil to wind and solar, from the peak of traditional energy use to the rapid breakthroughs of new energy technologies, from the rise of electric vehicles to smart grids, and from carbon capture and hydrogen innovation to competition over critical minerals—Mr. Alain Bechtel will deliver a wide-ranging and insightful talk on the latest global developments in the 2025 energy transition. Drawing on a rich global perspective, he will review the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on climate change since the Industrial Revolution, examine international commitments such as the Paris Agreement, analyze trends in global energy shifts, and offer an in-depth exploration of the true state and future trajectory of the global energy transition in 2025.
The lecture will also confront some of today’s most pressing questions: Why is the energy transition advancing so slowly? Are green commitments giving way to geopolitical tensions? As clean technologies advance at breakneck speed, can the global economy and climate goals still move in sync? Cutting through data and reality, trends and challenges, this lecture promises a forward-looking dialogue. We warmly invite everyone interested in energy, the environment, and global change to join this event and reflect with a world-class expert: in the complex landscape of 2025, where does the true path to energy transition lie?
