To ensure the successful convening of the School’s 7th Student Congress and 6th Graduate Student Congress, SEM of China University of Petroleum (East China) held the preparatory meeting and related pre-conference sessions on the morning of November 15 at the main venue (West Ring 101) and the secondary venue (West Ring 102).

Prior to the meeting, the Preparatory Committee reviewed and analyzed the major work undertaken by the Student Union and Graduate Student Union since 2024. Conference arrangements were discussed in detail during meetings of delegation conveners, the first delegation sessions, and delegation heads, and the work reports were finalized accordingly. At the preparatory meeting, Li Jinchao delivered the Preparatory Work Report, noting that the committee had advanced preparations in three key areas—drafting the work reports, organizing conference procedures, and conducting publicity and educational outreach—to ensure an orderly and well-structured congress.

The delegates then voted on the Qualification Review Report for both congresses, which was unanimously approved. This was followed by unanimous approval of the proposed list of the Congress Presidium members as well as the Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General of the Congress Secretariat. In the final agenda item, delegates voted on the congress agenda previously presented during the first delegation sessions. The agenda included: electing the 7th Student Union Presidium and the 6th Graduate Student Union Presidium; electing members of the standing bodies of the 7th Student Congress and the 6th Graduate Student Congress; and electing official representatives to the 28th University Student Congress and the 13th University Graduate Student Congress. The agenda was approved unanimously. The first meeting of the Congress Presidium also supplemented several procedural details.

With all items completed, the preparatory meeting and related sessions concluded successfully. The smooth organization of these meetings reflected the Preparatory Committee’s strong sense of responsibility and careful planning, and helped further refine key tasks and procedures to support the subsequent proceedings of the two congresses.
