On December 3, 2025, Prof. Liu Junyong of Central University of Finance and Economics and Prof. Shen Hongtao of Jinan University—both members of the National Accounting Professional Master’s Education Steering Committee—visited the School at its invitation to provide guidance on MPAcc accreditation development and case-based teaching. Zhu Hua, Party Secretary of the School, Wang Junhui, Director of the MPAcc Education Center, Liu Surong, Deputy Director, Wang Yong, Head of the Department of Accounting, Liu Kai, Deputy Head, and key faculty members from the department attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yong.

At the beginning of the meeting, Wang Yong extended a warm welcome to the two experts and briefly introduced them. Prof. Liu is a member of the National MPAcc Education Steering Committee and has served multiple times as the head of AAPEQ accreditation review panels. Prof. Shen is among the first cohort of accounting academic leaders recognized by the Ministry of Finance and a selectee of the Ministry’s “Accounting Masters” talent program. He has long focused on frontier areas such as sustainability accounting, ESG, and low-carbon management.

Zhu Hua then provided an overview of the School’s history and distinctive strengths. Leveraging the University’s strong ties to the energy sector and the momentum of digital transformation, the School has developed a distinctive model featuring deep energy-sector grounding empowered by digital technologies. Through integrated efforts across curriculum design, platforms, and industry collaboration, the School aims to cultivate interdisciplinary management talent aligned with the energy sector’s digital-intelligent transformation, forming clear strengths in accounting talent development.

Next, Prof. Sun Yanfang, the MPAcc program lead, delivered a comprehensive self-evaluation report structured around AAPEQ’s key review dimensions. The report systematically presented the School’s overall progress and staged achievements in AAPEQ preparation, covering institutional positioning, talent development scheme design, curriculum optimization, faculty development, research and social service outcomes, funding support, practice base development, and quality assurance mechanisms.

Following the report and discussion, Prof. Liu and Prof. Shen spoke highly of the School’s AAPEQ-related work. They agreed that the School has a solid foundation and distinctive strengths in professional accounting education, with a clear and market-responsive positioning in the energy sector, a well-structured and capable faculty team, and strong supporting conditions for program delivery—demonstrating strong development potential. In light of AAPEQ standards and industry trends, the experts offered targeted recommendations to address gaps and further strengthen the program. They suggested deepening the integration of the curriculum with energy-sector practice, improving the evaluation system for practice-based learning, expanding and enhancing industry partnerships, and further developing students’ ability to solve complex real-world problems. For faculty development, they recommended improving mechanisms for cultivating and recruiting dual-qualified faculty and strengthening the translation of research outcomes into high-quality teaching resources.

In closing remarks, Wang Yong expressed sincere gratitude for the experts’ professional guidance and valuable suggestions. He noted that the School will treat this visit as an important opportunity to carefully review and analyze the feedback, develop actionable improvement measures, and continue to optimize the talent development system, strengthen distinctive features, and enhance educational quality under the principle of “evaluation-driven development and continuous improvement.” The School will advance all aspects of AAPEQ preparation to further elevate the quality and impact of its MPAcc education.
