Speaker Bio
Fan Zhiping is a Distinguished Professor (Changjiang Scholars Program) appointed by China’s Ministry of Education and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He serves as the academic discipline leader in Management Science and Engineering at the School of Business Administration, Northeastern University, and is a member of the 8th Academic Committee of the Management Science Division under the Ministry of Education’s Science and Technology Committee. He is also an Executive Council Member of the Chinese Society of Management Science and Engineering.
His main research areas include managerial decision analysis, operations management, and service science. As principal investigator, he has completed or is currently leading nine projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including a Distinguished Young Scholars project, major research plan projects, and key projects.
Professor Fan has published more than 160 SCI/SSCI papers in leading international journals in the field of management science. His Google Scholar h-index is 65, and he has been listed among China’s Highly Cited Researchers for eight consecutive years. As a key contributor, he has received six provincial/ministerial-level government science and technology awards (the “three major awards”) and six provincial/ministerial-level humanities and social sciences academic achievement awards, including two Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Awards in Humanities and Social Sciences.
